The Training Centre at Lichfield College was funded by Business Education Partnership, Linfords Groups parent company, F & EV Linford and Tamworth and Lichfield College in Lichfield.
The development site is located in the centre of Lichfield and by virtue of its location a congested site with the usual urban scene constraints coupled with poor ground.
We provided Civil and Structural engineering for the structural refurbishment of a listed building into a workshop and new building for the training centre. The new building is a brick clad steel portal frame with a complex roof geometry. Deep foundations were necessary as the site overlies up to 3 metres of peat.
Our brief included:
- On and off site drainage capacity assessments and negotiation of drainage approvals
- Infrastructure design
- Sub and superstructure design
