Bibby Sterilin Ltd, a subsidiary of Barloworld Scientific, were seeking to reorganize and consolidate their distribution facilities to their manufacturing base in Stone, Staffordshire.
The development comprised a distribution warehouse of approximately 10,500m² gfa, internal offices, external goods and service areas, new parking facilities and infrastructure.
The warehouse building spans 65m, is 175m long and is to achieve a clear structural height of 13m.
Initially we developed the clients brief into a planning application package and then for a Design and Build tender. We were novated to the Anglo Holt as the successful tenderer.
A public sewage treatment works effluent drain traversed the site and we successfully negotiated the diversion to facilitate the proposed building footprint.
Our brief included:
- Infrastructure planning and design
- Negotiate main drains diversions and approvals to discharge into public sewers
- Transportation Assessment
- Resolve transportation issues with Local Highways Authority and S111 Agreement
- External site levels and onsite drainage design
- Cut and fill
- Procure geotechnical investigations
- Feasibility and detail superstructure design
- Foundation design
- Performance specifications for tender
- Detail design for construction
