As part of their five yearly upgrading programme Wandsworth Borough Council in conjunction with D .C. Leisure Management required a leisure facility at the above centre to incorporate fitness suites, multi purpose studios, changing rooms and a play area.
The team of Farebrothers, ISG Dean & Bowes and the Pozzoni Design Group were successful in their Design and Construct bid for the project, which incorporated the demolition of the reception, offices and changing rooms to the front of the existing sports hall and the construction of a two storey steel framed extension adjacent two sides of the sports hall to accommodate the above facilities. A new car park was also constructed within a steeply sloping grass banked area which required the construction of perimeter retaining walls.
Farebrothers were responsible for the procurement of a suitable site investigation and the subsequent design and detailing of the infrastructure, sub and superstructure works associated with the building and external areas.
