Pellikaan appointed Farebrothers as part of the Design and Construct team for the design and construction of Wildmoor Spa & Health Club in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire.
The development comprises a mix one to three storey steel framed structures, resembling a farm building complex, housing gymnasia, dance studios, fitness suites and an indoor pool with associated changing facilities and plant rooms.
A curved barrel roof, resembling farm outhouses, houses 1st floor gymnasia, oversailing part of the main pool. In order to meet stringent planning conditions relating to building heights, we designed a shallow first floor structure over the pool areas.
Part of three storey area incorporated retaining the brick façade of an original farm house for which an underpinning and façade retention system had to be designed. The infrastructure design included Foul and Surface Water drainage and external hardstandings.
Our brief included:
- Infrastructure and Structures designer for the development
- Performance specification and advice in the design of the façade retention system.
