As part of their continuing expansion programme the Midlands Co-operative Society required a larger store at Kibworth Beauchamp in Leicestershire to replace their existing 4,000 sq ft store.
This was achieved by developing a new 10,000 sq.ft. store adjacent to the existing store whilst it continued trading and demolishing the existing store upon completion of the new store to increase the area of the existing car park.
In order to reconcile the scope of development on the sloping nature of the site, three sides of the store incorporated retaining walls within external walls.
Farebrothers were responsible for procurement of suitable site investigation and the subsequent design and detailing of the infrastructure, sub and superstructure works in addition to all necessary design and liaison with statutory authorities associated with the construction of a new highway access.
Our brief included:
- Procurement of the Site Investigation
- Infrastructure and Structures designer for the store
- Liaison with statutory authorities for services diversions
- Liaison with local Highways Authority for new site access
