Midland Cooperative Society are developing a new retail store of approximately 5500ft² on a brownfield site in Oldbury in West Midlands.
The development comprises a steel framed masonry clad building on a steeply sloping site with associated infrastructure and car parking facilities in a compact footprint.
Highly variable made ground was improved by vibro stone columns to facilitate the building foundations, reinforced concrete retaining walls and ground bearing slabs.
Our brief included:
- Foundation engineering
- Superstructure design
- Drainage and site levels
- Negotiate drainage approvals
- Planning Supervisor
